Keyboard and Mouse not Working in Windows 7 (Even in Safe Mode)


Keyboard and mouse not working in Windows 7 (desktop), even in safe mode. 

The keyboard does work in the BIOS

  • Continuously press F8 when Windows is booting up until you get the Advanced Boot Options menu, then select “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement”.

  • After Welcome Screen Loaded, you will able to use Mouse and keyboard without any problems.
  • Click Start button & type cmd in the box
  • Right click on cmd and then click "Run as Administartor"


  1. This Should open command prompt with admin right
  • Now type following command to enable Administrator account

                      net user administrator /active:yes


  • Now logout and you will see the Administrator Account on the logon screen


  • Click on Administrator account and login
  • Then click start Button then you will see search box. Click search box , type run into the search box and press Enter Button from keyboard or Click Run text (easiest way to do so is Windows + R)



  • then type gpedit.msc and press Enter.


  • the Local Group Policy Editor will be launched




  • Expand "Administrative Templates" (it's under "User Configuration").
  • Expand "System".
  • Click "Driver Installation".


  • In the right panel, double click on "Code Signing for Device Drivers".


  • Choose "Enabled" in the window that appears. 
  • In the options area, choose "Ignore".



  • Click 'Apply' button then click 'OK'. 
  • Restart your computer.

  • In order to disable Administartor account , open cmd prompt with admin right and run the command with the following slight modification.
net user administrator /active:no
